What kind of media institution might distribute your magazine and why?
What is a publishing institution?
Any company that distributes written media formats.These include thing like newspapers and magazines.
Examples of publishing industries
It is important to have a publisher for your magazine because that's how your magazine is spread across the country for consumers to buy. Institutions are who will print your magazine and give it to the people of the world once it has been created.
Who would be an appropriate institution for my magazine?
For my magazine I have decided to use "Team Rock" as the publishing institution.
I think Team Rock would want to publish my magazine for a very good reason. They already have a metal magazine they currently publish, the very popular "Metal Hammer", which use to belong to Future publishing. However, the content in this magazine only covers the well known side of metal.
My magazine aims to cover the more obscure and niche side of the genre, such as unsigned, upcoming bands. This makes my magazine a perfect partner magazine for Metal Hammer, as it will give Team Rock total coverage of the metal world.
Team Rock also have a radio station (Team Rock Radio) so they can quickly spread news of this magazine across their channel, helping it to sell even more.
